This 6 piece ensemble of talented musicians is dedicated to bringing their talent and love of Heart's memorable music of the 70's and 80's to the stage with unequaled accuracy and musical skill. Dog and Butterfly is a tribute band that takes the concept of "tribute" to a whole new level.

 

Dog N Butterfly was created in late 2003 by Lead vocalist Lizann Warner. During her 18 year professional career in the music business, Lizann's voice was often and consistently compared to Ann Wilson of Heart. As one of Hearts biggest fans, Lizann always considered these comparisons a great compliment... it was not till later that she realized that perhaps her voice similarities to the famous lady of rock could serve another purpose... thus the idea for Dog and Butterfly was born. Already working with fellow musicians Sean Clegg, Scott Snyder, and David Pimentel in the O.C. based Top 40 band SUGARBOX, Lizann knew it was a no-brainer finding the perfect members for Dog N' Butterfly, since she was already working with some of the best musicians in town. Once the idea was presented to the band, the wheels of this tribute super group were set into motion, & the dream of Dog N' Butterfly quickly became a reality. Sean Clegg, a pro guitarist for 20 years with a masters degree in guitar performance, became the band's lead guitarist and musical director. Duplicating Howard Leese and Roger Fisher's guitar work to perfection! [F.Y.I : Sean produced the bands demo at his own Sonic Vibe studios!]... Scott Snyder, an accomplished stage and studio bassist, captures Heart's hard rock and sometimes funk-like grooves with remarkable expertise. David Pimentel, a professional tour and session drummer, flawlessly plays the rhythms and signature fills that are so recognizable in Heart's music. And, with Lizann's uncanny performance of Ann Wilson's vocals, the critics ears were sure to perk up. Only one more member was needed to complete the line-up, and that was to find someone to portray "Nancy Wilson". They found it in Sissy Martin, a talented guitarist & vocalist with over 20 years of live performance experience to her credit. With her spot-on vocals and musicianship on both acoustic & electric guitar, Sissy beautifully portrays "Nancy" like no one else!
